„ART4CHANGE” - INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC CALL FOR ARTISTS

We invite you to participate in the competition for the best graphic design on the topic of climate change and circular communities, which is a part of the "Communities go Circular" project. „Communities Go Circular” is a project on the topic of waste reduction, reuse and the right to repair (REDUCE/REUSE/REPAIR) funded by the EU program Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV). Throughout this project the project partners – Association Green Istria, Friends of the Earth Croatia, Zero Waste Italy, Ecologists Without Borders and KNOF, will provide education on the subject of Repair & Reuse, encourage the setting up of new repair and reuse centers, connect organizations dealing with these topics, encourage changes in the waste management system and contribute to mitigating climate change.

The main goal of the "Communities Go Circular" project is to engage citizens in shaping EU zero waste circular communities aimed at preventing waste production, reducing GHG emissions and contributing to climate change mitigation. You can find out more about the project

Who can participate in the competition: Visual artists, graphic designers, illustrators

Competition task: Designing and creating a key visual on the topic of climate change and circular communities.
The selected design will be used in an international online campaign which is aimed at informing and educating citizens about circular communities and climate change. Some of the campaign topics: waste reduction, the right to repair, reuse, climate justice, call for climate action.

Applications should contain:
    • author's name and surname, address and email address
    • key visual adapted for posters (B1 format - 70x100 cm at 300 dpi resolution or in vector format) and Facebook and Instagram post formats
    • a brief description of the idea behind the proposal

Competition conditions:

    • the design must be original work     
    • the appearance and content of the design must not exploit or offend anyone's political, ideological, national, sexual, religious or cultural preferences or other affiliation
    • text included in the design must be in English
    • applicants can submit a maximum of 2 designs
    • the design should contain the EU logo (you can find it here)

Prizes:

1st prize: 700 €
2nd prize: 500 €
3rd prize: 300 €

The selected design will be used for the purposes of the online informational and educational campaign of the "Communities go Circular" project, as well as on the website and other printed and electronic materials of the project. After the end of the competition, the selected designs remain the exclusive property of the project holder - Green Istra Association. Zelena Istra reserves the right to make minor changes, in agreement with the author.

The public tender is open from April 18 to May 12, 2023. Applications are sent exclusively by e-mail to the address: ured@zelena-istra.hr.
The entries will be reviewed and the best designs awarded by a national jury team of designers and artists - Iva Milaković, Noel Mirković and Vjeran Juhas.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The deadline has been extended until May 26 2023.

All works will be reviewed and graded and the results of the competition announced by the end of May 2023. All participants of the competition will be informed by email that their work has been received and about the results of the competition. The results of the competition will be published on the Green Istria official website and Facebook and Instagram accounts. If no application meets the criteria, the competition will be canceled.

Works received after the closing of the competition will not be taken into account. By sending her/his work, the author agrees to the stated terms of use. For additional information about the competition and the project, please contact us at: ured@zelena-istra.hr.
