The Green Phone is an environmental service which Green Istria has been offering to citizens--free of charge--since 1997. 

The aim of the Green Phone is to encourage citizens to actively participate in environmental protection and to encourage responsible institutions to do their duty to respond to and solve environmental problems more efficiently. Via the Green Phone, anyone in Croatia can report an environmental problem including violations they witness, or request information about an issue. Activists and volunteers at Green Istria work together in cooperation with citizens and the competent institutions to solve these problems and respond to requests, and then monitor their resolution. So far 4.000 cases have been reported to the Green Phone, which shows it allows citizens to be active in treating the environment consciously, and also indicates that the efficacy and quality of the Green Phone service is recognized by the public and is meeting the needs of citizens. 

The number for the Green Phone is: (+385) 072 123 456.  The phone is in service every weekday between 08.00-16.00, and voicemails can be recorded after hours. Volunteers and activists can receive calls in a variety of languages, including Croatian, Italian, and English.
