The Council of the European Union adopted the revolutionary Law on the Restoration of Nature!

The Council of the European Union adopted the revolutionary Law on the restoration of nature, which aims to restore 20% of the land and sea areas of the EU by 2030 and all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050. This law sets binding targets for different ecosystems, helping to protect biodiversity and combat climate change. Member states, including Croatia, have the obligation to implement this law in their national legislation.

Key points of the Law:

  • Restoration of at least 20% of the land and sea of the EU by 2030.
  • Priority to Natura 2000 locations and degraded habitats.
  • Protection of pollinators and increase of biodiversity in agriculture, forests and urban areas.
  • Restoration of dried peatlands, planting of 3 billion trees and release of 25,000 km of rivers by 2030.

You can learn more about this law here.

We invite you to restore nature together and build a sustainable future!
