"Sustainable solutions" exhibition opened

An interesting exhibition on the topic of eco-design was opened on in the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria on September 12.

The exhibition, under the mentorship of the KNOF collective, successfully presented innovative and sustainable design solutions, with a focus on the creative use of secondary materials. Visitors had the opportunity to see how design can be environmentally responsible and at the same time visually attractive. The exhibition was opened by Mojca Žganec Metelko and Ivan Metelko. The opening of the exhibition was preceded by a creative workshop „EcoLamps”, also led by the KNOF collective from Ljubljana, which guided the participants through the process of making unique lamps from recycled plastic.

Designers who presented their projects and work:

KNOF recycled plastic sheets

They specialize in recycling industrial and post-consumer plastics into functional surfaces that can be used in the furniture industry and construction. Their material, made from locally collected waste, is characterized by durability and can withstand screwing, cutting, drilling and is resistant to moisture and heat.

Čebelino / Slurbee

Rok Oblak and Luka Pleskovič present a ceramic pot with a porous surface that allows and filters water, providing drinking water for bees and other pollinators. The pot is intended primarily for urban areas where natural sources of water are lacking, especially during dry summer days. Their work combines contemporary design with environmental awareness.

Morja Zala

Zala Hrastar, which stands behind the Morja Zala brand, represents a mosaic of "everything he dreams about, thinks about and believes in." She designs unique items by giving a second chance to forgotten textiles, surplus materials, waste materials and previously worn clothes, recycling and reconstructing them into new items to prevent them from becoming waste.

 Vivre

Petra Jerič and her fashion brand Vivre enter the field of socially responsible fashion design with an emphasis on the ecological and ethical perspective. She highlights the problem of excessive use of plastics, synthetic materials and blends of natural and man-made fibers, all of which contribute to the challenges of decomposition. With a collection of unique clothes made from biodegradable materials, it presents alternatives and offers possible solutions.

KNOF redesign

Their collection combines the charm of vintage clothing with a modern touch – Reimagined vintage collection! Each piece in their Redesign vintage collection has its own story. Each piece in their Redesign vintage collection has its own story. They handpick quality used and vintage clothing and transform it into fresh, modern pieces that breathe new life into forgotten classic and timeless pieces.

MOWALL

MOWALL is a modular partition wall, perfect for multiple use in offices, shops and showrooms. Easy to assemble and disassemble, it adapts to your changing needs. Made of 100% recycled materials, the wall offers additional functions such as product presentation, lighting installation and sound insulation.

The "Sustainable Solutions" exhibition is an opportunity to see firsthand how creativity can shape a more sustainable future.
