Creative Upcycling Workshop: Old textiles get a new life

Organized by the association Zelena Istra, a creative upcycling workshop was held at the Re-Geppetto Workshop. The workshop took place as part of the Communities Go Circular project, where participants had the opportunity to repurpose old textiles into something new, under the expert guidance of renowned Pula costume designer and puppeteer Marina Štemberger, in collaboration with the 2K-KempKatze association from Rojc.

The workshop highlights the importance of reducing the amount of textiles we buy and encourages nurturing an original and creative style through upcycling. For this occasion, participants brought their old pieces of fabric, which they redesigned into new items. In a pleasant and creative atmosphere, new, imaginative bags, jackets, pants, and other clothing items were created, accompanied by useful tips that promote original and creative styling through upcycling. This workshop is just one of a series of similar events organized by the association Zelena Istra. Everyone interested is invited to join future workshops and contribute to environmental protection on a local level. The Re-Geppetto Workshop, located in the Rojc Community Center, provides space for citizens who want to repair and extend the lifespan of their products. The workshop is managed by the Rojc Association Alliance, and the programs are created by the Zelena Istra Association.
