The Circular Connections project links Zelena Istra (Green Istria) and the Slovenian organization Knjižnica reči (Library of Things) with the aim of strengthening local communities through repairs, sharing, and the circular economy. As part of the project, the first Croatian “Library of Things” is being established at the Community Center Rojc in Pula, while in Ljubljana, the Repair Café is further developed and strengthened.
The project transforms these spaces into centers for learning about sustainability, where citizens can acquire practical green skills – from repairs and reuse to sharing tools and equipment. Special emphasis is placed on engaging diverse groups of citizens and on educating and empowering “sustainability ambassadors” who will further pass on knowledge within their communities.
Through cross-border cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the joint development of models, the project contributes to waste reduction, strengthening local resilience, and fostering sustainable habits in everyday life in Croatia and Slovenia.
